What is your favorite thing
about the horse you’re competing?
Travis is really special to me for many reasons.
I have brought him up from a green broke
4yo to doing his first Grand Prix this year. As
a Percheron/Quarter Horse cross, he’s a true
testament to what correct training and a
willing horse can do.
What’s one thing your horse has taught
you throughout your partnership?
Never underestimate the “off” breeds!
Is there anything you and your horse
have been working on that you’re
especially excited to showcase?
Our freestyles are my favorite. I do all of the
choreography and music myself, we really have
a good time with it!
What does it mean to you to
compete at the US Dressage Finals?
We have been so fortunate to qualify for finals
four times already, and he’s even brought home
a top 10 finish! I love showing that a non-
warmblood can be competitive on such a big
stage, and in the Open division, no less!
What do you do when you’re not riding?
As a trainer, most of my time is spent in the
barn, but when I can get away I enjoy hiking
and being on the water with my dog.
