What are your favorite things about
the horses you’re competing?
I’ve owned Iconic Eden since she was a few
days old and started her myself with our team
at Lauren Chumley Dressage, so it’s fun having
been part of her almost entire life and feeling
the talent she has for the future! Mojito is my
heart horse and best friend, so I love competing
him and feeling at home when I’m with him!
What’s one thing your horse has taught
you throughout your partnership?
Both horses have taught me patience and to
focus on the big picture. They are both hot
and sensitive, so things need to happen in
their own time. They can also sometimes be
reactive to their environment, but I remind
myself that electricity is going to be a lot of fun
at Grand Prix!
A fun story on how I qualified for Intermediare
1 Freestyle Open Championships is they played
the wrong freestyle music but I didn’t realize
it immediately, because it sounds similar to
my mare’s First Level freestyle. Once I realized
it was the wrong music I was afraid to notify
the judges and risk being eliminated, so I
improvised an Intermediare 1 Freestyle to
my First Level Freestyle music and magically
remembered to do all of the movements
required and enough to the music that we got
Reserve Champion and qualified for Finals!
Is there anything you and your horse
like to do when you’re not riding?
I like to sleep, because I work hard at a large
dressage facility selling and training horses for
all of the other hours.
